Mr. Campbell-Savours: To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what estimate he has made of the value of tax receipts from income tax on privately rented residential accommodation in the last year for which statistics are available. [88817] Dawn Primarolo: It is estimated that about £900 million of income tax paid by individuals in respect of the 1997-1998 tax year arose from income from land and property. It is not known how much of this arose from residential accommodation.
