Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, if the Air Accidents Investigation Branch inspector investigating the fatal crash of RAF Chinook ZD576 was informed of an incident on 21st April 1994 that led to the removal of an engine on the same aircraft; and if he will make a statement.

Answer: Mr. Brake: To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if the Air Accidents Investigation Branch inspector investigating the fatal crash of RAF Chinook ZD576 was informed of an incident on 21 April 1994 that led to the removal of an engine on the same aircraft; and if he will make a statement. [133435] Mr. Spellar: The Air Accidents Investigation Branch Inspector and the Engineering member of the RAF Board of Inquiry together went through all the maintenance records for ZD576 for the year prior to the accident. This included the incident on 21 April 1994.
