- To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, how many retired ex-servicemen have their level of pension affected by pay restraint policies in force in 1976 and 1977; what would be the annual cost of raising with effect from 1 April 2001 the pension payable to members of the Armed Services who retired between 1 April 1997 and 31 March 1978 so that it is the same as the pension of those who retired immediately prior to 1 April 1977 -Will write.
