- To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, what plans he has to require information about car mileage to be notified to the DVLA when the car is sold; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Cox: To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions what plans he has to require information about car mileage to be notified to the DVLA when the car is sold; and if he will make a statement. [114495] Mr. Hill: DVLA already has a voluntary mileage recording scheme in place and there are plans to extend this once equipment becomes available. A mandatory mileage declaration scheme will be introduced as soon as the necessary primary legislation is in place.
