Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, What proposals he has to assist local authorities in promoting arts projects. (Failed OPQ).

Answer: Mr. Illsley: To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport what proposals he has to assist local authorities in promoting arts projects. [158154] Mr. Alan Howarth: Last year my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State published "Creating Opportunities". The preparation of a local cultural strategy in accordance with this guidance document will help local authorities to develop a coherent vision for cultural activities and projects.
