Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, if former service personnel who took part in experiments at the Chemical Defence Esablishment, Porton Down are entitled to a complete copy of the medical report assessing their health after they have attended the Medical Assessment Programme.

Answer: Mr. Matthew Taylor: To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if former service personnel who took part in experiments at the Chemical Defence Establishment, Porton Down are entitled to a complete copy of the medical report assessing their health after they have attended the Medical Assessment Programme. [160063] Dr. Moonie: For reasons of medical procedure, to ensure continuity with volunteers existing health care arrangements, all referrals to the Medical Assessment Programme must be made through a GP or other health professional (eg a consultant physician). As such the results of the Medical Assessment Programme consultation, with any recommendations for treatment, are reported back to the volunteer's general practitioner or referring consultant. However, a copy is provided to the individual, if requested.
