Dr. Tonge: To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will make a statement on the average length of time it takes refugee doctors to find work in the UK. [151840] Mr. Denham: Information about refugee doctors is not collected centrally. We do not know, at the moment, how many refugee doctors are in the United Kingdom. As part of the refugee health professional initiative, we have commissioned a database to collect information. Funding of £10,000 has been provided to the voluntary sector for this work, and more is available for its extension to nurses and other trained health professionals.
