Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment, if he will ensure that paper and timber products purchased by his Department are independently certified by the Forest Stewardship Council as coming from a sustainable source; what steps he has taken to ensure that paper and timber products purchased by his Department come from a sustainable source. - Inc ref to 344 c357W, 14 February 2000.

Answer: Mr. Reed: To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment (1) if he will ensure that paper and timber products purchased by his Department are independently certified by the Forest Stewardship Council as coming from a sustainable source; [110189] (2) what steps he has taken to ensure that paper and timber products purchased by his Department come from a sustainable source. I can confirm that my Department's policy on green issues is modelled on that of DETR.
