Mrs. Calton: To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many cases of malaria were diagnosed in the UK in 2001; and what the cost was to the NHS of treating them. [85153] Ms Blears: 2,050 cases of malaria were reported in the United Kingdom in 2001. The individual cost of treating malaria is not available.
