Answer

Joyce Quin: To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on relations between the UK and (a) Ukraine and (b) Moldova. [75957] Mr. Macshane: I refer my right hon. Friend to the statement my hon. Friend the Member for North Warwickshire (Mr. Mike O'Brien) gave on 23 July, Official Report, columns 836-837. It has since been reliably reported that President Kuchma authorised the transfer of radar equipment to Iraq. This could have consequences for Ukraine's international relationships, including with the UK. The UK's relations with Moldova are developing. Our first resident Ambassador arrived in Chisnau on 8 July.
