Mr. Alan Campbell: To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what representations her Department has had from animal welfare organisations regarding the sale and use of fireworks. [65523] Mr. Wilson: The Department has received representations from animal welfare organisations regarding the sale and use of fireworks, but this is essentially a matter for the Department of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) under the Protection of Animals Act 1919.
