To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment, when were the deadlines for (a) the preparation of budgets under the fair funding system for their submission to his Department and (b) notifying schools of their budget share; and if he will list each local education authority in England that has failed to meet either of these deadlines. - Includes list and fact that information about the dates on which local education authorities notify their schools of their budget shares is not collected centrally.

Mr. Laurence Robertson: To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment when were the deadlines for (a) the preparation of budgets under the fair funding system for their submission to his Department and (b) notifying schools of their budget share; and if he will list each local education authority in England that has failed to meet either of these deadlines. [80674] Ms Estelle Morris: Local eduction authorities are required to publish their budget statements and to notify schools of their budget shares before the beginning of the financial year to which they relate. The following local authorities published their budget statements for the 1999-2000 financial year by the appointed time: Barnet Brent Brighton and Hove Kingston-upon-Hull Kingston-upon-Thames Redbridge Southend South Gloucestershire Trafford. Information about the dates on which local education authorities notify their schools of their budget shares is not collected centrally.
