Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, pursuant to the Parliamentary Secretary's letter of 8th July, what continuing action has been taken to protect Serbian churches in Kosovo.

Answer: Mr. Dalyell: To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, pursuant to the Parliamentary Secretary's letter of 8 July, what continuing action has been taken to protect Serbian churches in Kosovo. [25950] Mr. MacShane: As part of their mandate to provide a safe and secure environment in Kosovo, NATO-led Kosovo Force (KFOR) troops continue to guard Serbian churches in Kosovo. The protection of the remaining religious buildings and patrimonial sites is an important part of the international community's strategy of maintaining Kosovo as a multi-ethnic society. UK troops take an active part in this process.
