- To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Skills, what proportion of NVQs were completed in further education colleges in (a) 2001-02 and (b) 2002-03. - Including figures.

Rob Marris: To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Skills what proportion of NVQs were completed in further education colleges in (a) 2001-02 and (b) 2002-03. [136978] Alan Johnson: The National Information System for Vocational Qualifications (NISVQ) showed that 46.4 per cent. of a total 315,000 NVQ/SVQs were achieved1 in further education colleges/tertiary colleges in England in 2001/02. The equivalent figure for 2002/03 is not yet available. 1 NISVQ collects information on full NVQ/SVQs awarded. It does not collect information on those qualifications which were completed but not achieved.
