- To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, whether British troops in the Gulf are equipped with disabling nerve agents; and under what circumstances they can be used. - No. As a State Party to the 1993 Chemical Weapons Convention, the UK has undertaken never to develop, produce or use chemical weapons. (Holding answer 10 March 2003).
