Mr. Brady: To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Skills how many language assistants are employed in maintained primary schools. [92327] Mr. Miliband: As at January 2002, there were 29.5 full-time equivalent foreign language assistants and 1,193.1 minority ethnic pupils' bilingual assistants in maintained primary schools.
