Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland, if he will make a statement on the most recent discussions he has held on future shipbuilding in Scotland. (Failed OPQ)

Answer: Rachel Squire: To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland, if he will make a statement on the most recent discussions he has held on future shipbuilding in Scotland. [167040] Mr. Darling: I recently met representatives from BAE Systems during a tour of their shipbuilding facilities at Scotstoun and Govan. From these discussions, there was a sense that the prospects for Scottish shipbuilding are encouraging. The yards on the Clyde have healthy order books, and the industry will continue to create and support thousands of jobs in Scotland.
