Answer: Annabelle Ewing: To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions what representations he has made to the Home Office regarding (a) the timescale and (b) the cost of introducing biometric card readers in benefit offices in the UK. [206194] Mr. Pond: We are working closely with the Home Office to agree timescales for the introduction of biometric readers into benefit offices. Detailed work is still ongoing to establish the cost and types of readers that may be used.
