Mr. Paul Marsden: To ask the Deputy Prime Minister how many homeless households were in temporary accommodation in Shrewsbury and Atcham (a) in May 1997, (b) in June 2001 and (c) at the latest available figures. [200286] Keith Hill: Local authorities report their activities under homelessness legislation quarterly, and this includes the number of homeless households in various forms of temporary accommodation as on the last day of the quarter. Information reported by Shrewsbury and Atcham DC is tabled as follows. At the 30 June 2004, 70 per cent. of households were accommodated in stock owned by a Registered Social Landlord; and 29 per cent. were in hostel accommodation. There was only one household in B&B type accommodation.
