Answer

Paul Farrelly: To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Skills what the surplus or deficit was of each school in Newcastle-under-Lyme at the end of the financial year 2003-04. [198667] Mr. Miliband: The information requested is submitted to the Department according to local education authority areas, rather than districts within an LEA. Newcastle-under-Lyme forms part of Staffordshire LEA. Staffordshire LEA has yet to submit its full section 52 statement and a complete Consistent Financial Reporting return for 2003-04. I will write to my hon. Friend once this information has been received and validated.
