Mr. Willetts: To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what the effects would be on the incomes of households in each quintile of the income distribution of raising the personal income tax allowance to £10,000 per annum. [186783] Dawn Primarolo: The information is as follows. Percentage increase _________________________________________________________________________________________________. Quintile Percentage change in net equivalised household income (before housing costs) 1 1.4 2 3.1 3 4.9 4 5.9 5 5.1 _________________________________________________________________________________________________. These changes in household income are based on IGOTM tax and benefits model using the Family Resources Survey 2002-03.
