Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what assessment his Department has made of the possibility of a referendum in Venezuela this year.

Answer: Angus Robertson: To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what assessment his Department has made of the possibility of a referendum in Venezuela this year. [173816] Mr. Rammell: The Venezuelan constitution allows for the possibility of a recall referendum against elected officials, including the President, provided certain conditions are met. It is not yet clear whether these conditions will be met, and therefore not possible to determine if a referendum will take place at this stage.
