Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, what plans he has to bid to retain the vacant TKECC factory premises at Dundonald to encourage reinvestment into the area.

Answer: Mr. Trimble: To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what plans he has to bid to retain the vacant TKECC factory premises at Dundonald to encourage reinvestment into the area. [165910] Mr. Gardiner: TK-ECC purchased the factory, freehold, from IDB in 1995 as part of a major disposal programme of fully developed estates. Invest NI has no plans to buy the factory back should it come onto the market. The land is zoned as "existing employment/industry" and Invest NI will oppose any attempt to change that zoning and will seek to work with the private sector to obtain new tenants and encourage reinvestment in the area.
