Question: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what assessment he has made of the changes in the costs of introduction of the detention and training orders. - Inc figures.

Answer: Miss McIntosh: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what assessment he has made of the changes in the costs of introduction of the detention and training orders. [151132] Paul Goggins: We estimate the average cost of a Detention and Training Order to be £27,000. That is an average for all sentence lengths and all types of establishment (Young Offender Institutions, Secure Training Centres and Local Authority Secure Children's Homes). It includes both the custodial and the community parts of the Order.
