Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what discussions she has had with the US Administration about its policy on countries entering into international environmental agreements as a condition of bilateral trade agreements.

Answer: Mr. Gummer: To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs what discussions she has had with the US Administration about its policy on countries entering into international environmental agreements as a condition of bilateral trade agreements. [213227] Mr. Morley: We are not aware of any such policy on the part of the US government and Defra Ministers have therefore not discussed the issue with the US authorities.
