Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Health, how much the Government has allocated for the support element of supported living in the next three years; what mechanisms are in place for co-ordination of the housing, support/care, day services elements of supported living; and who is responsible for that co-ordination. - Inc table.

Answer: Ms Shipley: To ask the Secretary of State for Health (1) how much the Government has allocated for the support element of supported living in the next three years; [211796] (2) what mechanisms are in place for co-ordination of the housing, support/care, day services elements of supported living; and who is responsible for that co- ordination. [211797] Dr. Ladyman: Local authorities and health trusts are required to work together to develop and co-ordinate services to support people in all aspects of independent living in the community. These services are funded through the local authority personal social services (PSS) budget and the supporting people programme.
