Question: To ask the Parliamentary Secretary, Department for Constitutional Affairs, what training in sexuality issues is given to asylum case adjudicators who handle asylum applications based on persecution on the grounds of sexual orientation.

Answer: Mrs. Roche: To ask the Parliamentary Secretary, Department for Constitutional Affairs what training in sexuality issues is given to asylum case adjudicators who handle asylum applications based on persecution on the grounds of sexual orientation. [210710] Mr. Leslie: Immigration adjudicators are independent members of the judiciary who determine each asylum appeal based on their own findings of fact and by applying the law as established to that particular claim. The training of immigration adjudicators is organised and facilitated by senior judicial members of the Immigration Appellate Authority.
