- If, when planning permission is sought for development which might lead to pollution of any lake, river, stream or reservoir in N Ireland the quality of such water is assessed before development takes place & if maintenance of water quality is taken into account in deciding if planning permission is granted & if procedures differ re water which does not before development meet standards laid down in EC directive 78/ 659/EEC & waters which do. - (Holding answer 26 Feb 1988).
