Proceeding contribution from Philip Davies (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Monday, 4 July 2005. It occurred during Opposition day on Government Regulation.
Government Regulation
Only last week, a manufacturing firm, Pennine Fibres, in Denholme—a village that is certainly not in the most affluent part of the area—closed down, costing another 80 jobs in my constituency. Part of the reason why that happens is that there is so little expertise among Government Front Benchers at running a business. They simply do not understand the problems that they are causing.
