Proceeding contribution from Alistair Carmichael (Liberal Democrat) in the House of Commons on Monday, 11 July 2005. It occurred during Debate on bill on Racial and Religious Hatred Bill.

Racial and Religious Hatred Bill

Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker. I think that I get the hon. Gentleman’s drift. He has to have regard to the very wide terms in which racial hatred is defined in paragraph 1 of the new schedule, which would catch most of the circumstances that the hon. Gentleman mentions.
