The UK remains committed to championing freedom of religion or belief (FoRB) for all around the world, including in the West Bank and Jerusalem. The right to worship must be protected. The Government of Israel must work with religious communities to facilitate worship in Jerusalem in line with the status quo.

The Government works with faith-based partners as well as civil society, and local, national, and international organisations, to support people displaced by conflict and disasters. A range of faith-based organisations have participated in Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office-funded humanitarian and development programmes. These programmes include support for displaced people and assistance to affected communities.

We condemn Iran's historic and current repression of Baha'is in the strongest terms and are committed to working with international partners to hold Iran to account. The Government's position on Freedom of Religion or Belief in Iran, and the persecution of the Baha'i community, remains as set out in the answer of 19 May to Question 611; it continues to be unacceptable for the Iranian authorities to target religious minority groups because of their faith.

The UK remains committed to promoting freedom of religion or belief for all, including through our engagement with the Government of Pakistan. In my meeting with Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dar on 27 August, I raised a number of human rights issues. We regularly raise the rights of religious minorities with Pakistani counterparts, while UK-funded programmes promote interfaith dialogue and support marginalised communities. We will continue to urge Pakistan to protect the rights and safety of all religious communities, including Christians, in line with its international obligations.
