Proceeding contribution from Lord Northbourne (Crossbench) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 11 October 2005. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Children and Adoption Bill [HL].

Children and Adoption Bill [HL]

Might it be possible between now and the next stage of the Bill to draft a definition—a word or a set of words—that puts the issue rather more in the context of the interests of the child than of those of the parents? I believe that a form of words could be found, but not in Committee.
