Proceeding contribution from Earl Howe (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 11 October 2005. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Children and Adoption Bill [HL].

Children and Adoption Bill [HL]

I am most grateful to the Minister. In the light of his earlier remarks I realised that he would be minded to resist the amendment, but it would be very helpful if he could let me know at some point how the Government’s thinking has evolved on the Constitutional Affairs Select Committee’s report and, indeed, the endorsement by the pre-legislative committee on the issue of amending the welfare checklist.
