Proceeding contribution from Lord Foulkes of Cumnock (Labour) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 15 November 2005. It occurred during Committee of the Whole House (HL) and Debate on bill on Identity Cards Bill.

Identity Cards Bill

I find it astonishing—and perhaps my noble friend Lord Gould will explain this—that the identity card will be equally popular even if it is quite expensive. My noble friend Lord Gould can give the Committee all the polling information which explains this. As I say, I find it astounding that the polling data reveal that even if it is quite expensive, it will still be quite popular. It is astonishing.
