Proceeding contribution from Lord Selsdon (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 15 November 2005. It occurred during Committee of the Whole House (HL) and Debate on bill on Identity Cards Bill.
Identity Cards Bill
I was asking about foreign nationals within the European Union having to surrender their identity cards, as I believe they have to under their domestic legislation, when they become residents of the United Kingdom. Does that mean that they would be entitled to a British national identity card and would that replace their own identity card?
