Proceeding contribution from Earl of Onslow (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 15 November 2005. It occurred during Committee of the Whole House (HL) and Debate on bill on Identity Cards Bill.

Identity Cards Bill

Is the noble Lord really saying that he will be more confident in his skin if he has an identity card? I can promise you that I will not. It will not make a blind bit of difference except for the irritation of having to carry it. Honestly, will you really be happier in your skin and feel jollier as you go round your work, and all this because you have been forced to have an identity card with a list of things on it as long as your arm? Come off it!
