Proceeding contribution from Andrew Love (Labour) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 24 November 2005. It occurred during Adjournment debate on Road Pricing.
Road Pricing
I thank my hon. Friend for giving way, and apologise to you, Sir Nicholas, for arriving late for the debate. Does the Committee feel that the Government did enough to make the case for road pricing? The Mayor has made a strong case for the congestion charge in the capital, but, sadly, that case could not be sustained for Edinburgh. Do we need to make much more of a public case for road pricing? If we do not, we shall face the same problems that were faced in Edinburgh.
