Proceeding contribution from Clive Betts (Labour) in the House of Commons on Wednesday, 30 November 2005. It occurred during Adjournment debate on Light Rail.
Light Rail
I shall be brief, Mr. O'Hara. I am a complete enthusiast for light rail, because of the experience of Sheffield. Before the Liberal Democrats get too critical of the Government, I remind them that it was the Lib Dems in Sheffield who petitioned Parliament against the Sheffield Supertram, and they opposed it for a number of years. At least the Labour party in South Yorkshire has been consistent on the matter.
