Proceeding contribution from Lord Khan of Tooting (Labour) in the House of Commons on Friday, 2 December 2005. It occurred during Debate on bill on Criminal Law (Amendment) (Protection of Property) Bill.
Criminal Law (Amendment) (Protection of Property) Bill
Before my hon. Friend leaves the case of Tony Evans, may I refer him to what Mr. Evans said? He accepted that the police could not condone what he had done. He said:"““They had to act. It could lead to a vicious circle if everyone starts arming themselves to shoot at burglars. The burglars may start arming themselves and then the police and before we know it we may be living in a gun society.””" Does my hon. Friend agree with those comments?
