Proceeding contribution from Lord Hain (Labour) in the House of Commons on Monday, 9 January 2006. It occurred during Debate on bill on Government of Wales Bill.
Government of Wales Bill
Since the hon. Lady has raised the issue, I shall tell her that the measure appeared in the UK manifesto. A more extensive description appeared in the Welsh manifesto, but the specific commitment appeared in Labour’s UK manifesto, which was fought on by every candidate throughout the UK.
