Proceeding contribution from Baroness Byford (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Wednesday, 8 February 2006. It occurred during Committee of the Whole House (HL) and Debate on bill on Natural Environment and Rural Communities Bill.
Natural Environment and Rural Communities Bill
I am grateful to the Minister for that suggestion, because the RDAs, as we debated earlier, are unaccountable bodies. It seems very strange for there to be the possibility that a body that is supposed to be independent will be put with another body which, so far as we are concerned, is undemocratic. However, I am grateful for the Minister’s reassurance. I shall read what she has said, and I beg leave to withdraw the amendment. Amendment, by leave, withdrawn. Clause 26 agreed to.
