Stormont Estate (Northern Ireland) Order 2006

My Lords, I thank the noble Baroness for introducing the order. I have no real argument about it. She is right. Most of the buildings for sale are in a poor condition—they are loosely known as rubbishy buildings. However, it is worth making the point that when the Stormont Parliament building itself was built it contained the Northern Ireland government and all their officials and civil servants. Would that we could get back to that once again. I support the Government’s order in principle, but I have one question—where will the money go? I hope that it will remain in the Province and will be additional to current block grant.
