Proceeding contribution from Lord Hanningfield (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 28 February 2006. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Electoral Administration Bill.
Electoral Administration Bill
On that point, we all know about IT projects that start off with £10 million and which end up with £15 or £18 million—we have all seen plenty of that. Does the Minister mean to say that if the project runs out of money it will stop, or will more money be added? I would be surprised if a project for which £10 million had been earmarked actually cost that amount of money. We have all had tremendous experience of that.
