Proceeding contribution from Lord Richard (Labour) in the House of Lords on Wednesday, 15 March 2006. It occurred during Debate on bill on Identity Cards Bill.
Identity Cards Bill
With respect, my Lords, it is. Read it tomorrow in Hansard and your Lordships will see so, but it is no worse for that. I finish on this note. The noble Lord, Lord McNally, is raising profound constitutional issues. We all know that, yet the way he raises them will produce an almost permanent confusion between the unelected House and the elected one. I have no doubt whatever which one should prevail.
