Proceeding contribution from Lord Hodgson of Astley Abbotts (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Monday, 20 March 2006. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Company Law Bill [HL].

Company Law Bill [HL]

I am grateful to the Minister. This is detailed technical stuff. The timing of when events become effective, the way in which that is made apparent in the law now and the way in which it may be made apparent under the Bill are matters that we shall need to reflect on further with those who have told us that they are unhappy with the current drafting. We may wish to return to the matter, but, in the meantime, I beg leave to withdraw the amendment. Amendment, by leave, withdrawn. [Amendment No. A73C not moved.] Clause 562, as amended, agreed to. Clause 563 [Registration of court order]: [Amendment No. A73D not moved.] Clause 563 agreed to. Clause 564 agreed to. Clause 565 [Financial assistance by company for acquisition of shares]:
