Electoral Administration Bill

I intervene briefly to say that I have been confronted by very articulate 16 year-olds in the classroom challenging a Member of Parliament. Often, during a campaign, they put up a better argument than many other electors. The problem that I have is very simple—parental bullying. It is a major problem which will arise if we extend the age to 16. Particularly in conditions of postal voting, the parent will fill in the form or will sit over the 16 year-old when the form is being filled in and, effectively, will fill in the form on behalf of the child. Parental bullying is an argument no one has addressed, but it is a debate that is going on nationally.
