National Lottery Bill

I wish it was as simple as the Minister said. I am afraid I shall have to quote his colleague Mr Caborn again, who always seems to come to my rescue in these debates. He said:"““The Big Lottery Fund will be able to take a lead in developing common standards such as applications and complaint procedures. It will reduce administrative costs for all lottery distributors and ensure that more money goes to good causes””.—[Official Report, Commons Standing Committee A, 25/10/05; col. 96.]" That may be a good sentiment, but in effect it means it will go beyond just advising applicants where to go. The fund will be involved in the management, process and developing of common standards—Mr Caborn’s words—of the other distributing bodies. That is the worry. Will the Minister address that point?
