Proceeding contribution from Richard Burden (Labour) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 11 May 2006. It occurred during Adjournment debate on Confident Consumers.
Confident Consumers
Will my right hon. Friend also address the scams that target home workers, which still cause many problems for my constituents and others? People are promised thousands of pounds for work, but are required to pay upfront for meaningless kits and end up receiving nothing back. I introduced a private Member’s Bill on the issue some years ago, which did not proceed, but there is still a problem and I ask my right hon. Friend to look into it.
