Confident Consumers

The Minister mentioned increasing enforcement and making it more effective. The Government accepted the Hampton report, which recommended bringing together various agencies into an organisation to be called the consumer and trading standards agency. The consultation on that proposal closed in October and I would like an update on the Government’s intentions. As the report said, the new body"““would need to dedicate significant resources to deliver a more coherent enforcement network and to improve performance in local authorities around the country.””"
