Proceeding contribution from David Drew (Labour) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 11 May 2006. It occurred during Adjournment debate on Confident Consumers.
Confident Consumers
The Financial Services Authority is tasked to do a lot of work in the area of consumer and financial education. I believe that the jury is still out on whether it has been effective, or whether its approach has been too laid back and complicated. Does the hon. Gentleman agree that it would be good to know how much impact that work has had in schools? If younger people do not have the relevant knowledge, we will all be—to use the old expression—doomed.
